Taking good care of your new Kiboots will ensure them a prolonged lifetime. Please take a moment and read through these recommendations.
Leather is a breathable and porous material, which is not waterproof by nature. In general, when your Kiboots arrive they have just been polished. It’s therefore a good idea to waterproof your new Kiboots with a water-repellent protector spray. Since leather is a natural fiber the appearance and color will change over time. This shouldn’t be considered a flaw, as it gives the shoes more of a personal, one-of-a kind patina.
However, make sure you use a good polish or wax in order to keep the moisture level and appearance at it’s best. If your shoes get damp or wet, allow the shoes to dry naturally, since direct heat will cause the surface to crack. It’s a good idea to alternate between a few of pairs, as a single pair should never be used constantly. Using wooden shoetrees will help absorb moisture and maintain shape.
Try to use a shoehorn when putting on your shoes. This will keep the heel cap and inner lining intact.
Our shoes are built on leather soles and protected with rubber-reinforced soles. Weather conditions can have a big impact on the soles of shoes. If any problem come up please contact Kiboots and we will look for a solution.
ADDITIONAL CARE TIPS
Removing Salt Stains:
Add some water and a few drops of lemon or special agent onto a clean cloth. Rub the skin gently to remove salt stain. When the stain is gone, dry shoes at room temperature and then treat with shoe polish or spray.
