Kiboots are colourful handmade boots made by skilled artisans that combine original vintage kilim rugs and leather in a unique way. Besides that they are all handcrafted from top to bottom. 

Kilims are flat-woven rugs with no pile. With thousands of different colours and patterns these rugs are the most striking ones with zigzags, diamond patterns and horizontal stripes.

Almost all of the kilim's used in Kiboots have a long history and story to tell as they are collected from all over the country.

Many of our artisans have over 30 years experience and give schooling to younger trainees with the help of Kiboots. Every boot is produced the original and authentic way.And naturally no childlabour, sweatshops or chemicals are involved.

Every pair of Kiboots is branded by hand with the original Kiboots “K” logo on the side.

   Philosophy and history

There is a new kid in town. In the summer of 2010, Jovanna Kruitbosch and Martijn Lugtigheid established Kiboots. Their commitment to sustainability and very rare originals build the basis for their unique label.

During the many trips that they made, they got inspired by particular products and crafts from local artisans and artists. "What we were missing in the fashion world were authentic, but affordable products that are made with love and care."

Kiboots is pioneering in the development of ecologically produced and fairly traded pieces in a mainstream fashion market.

However Kiboots is always fashion first. We believe it's common sense and decency to produce with respect for mother nature and for the good of the people we work with.

The young Amsterdam based label got picked up by stylists

and buyers and the popularity is growing through word of mouth.

  Kilim & leather; unique combination

Originaly the first boots that combined Kilim rugs and leather were made back in the '60 when hippies enjoyed the freedom of roadtripping around the country

Neither from a commercial or “green” point of view. Just out of saving cost, locals turned old kilim carpets and leather leftovers into boots.

The founders of Kiboots discovered an old pair and started reproducing these boots, by upgrading the quality and handpicking the vintage carpets themselves.

Kiboots has a perfect fit with fashion today with it's bohemian vintage feel, aswell as the concept of recycling and green and traditional hand-craft manufacturing techniques.

The concept of Kiboots is authentic and survided the test of time.
